I guess you could call this a 100 year collaboration.
While browsing in a Paris flea market,I
discovered a folder of several drawings made in 1913 by a 15 year old schoolboy
named Georges Beaufils. The sketches were done as class assignments and
included corrections that the teacher had made. I decided that since each
drawing was of an object, it would be fun to try to find the same object in the
flea market. I succeeded, and set ut to create a series of assemblages by
combining the drawing with the object and other related materials.
As there were only six original drawings, I
decided to continue this project on my own, "d'apres" Georges
Beaufils.
There are about 20 pieces in the series. Each
frame is handmade from barnwood.
